In Memoriam: Calvin White Chesson

Calvin White Chesson died Jan. 30, 2025. He was 88.

Chesson earned his undergraduate degree from East Carolina University, paying his way through school in part, with earnings from his dance band “Calvin Chesson and The Dreamers,” in which he played trumpet. He earned his law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law.

He practiced law for 60 years in Charlotte, serving as assistant district attorney and a focusing on business law. He was a member of NCAJ from 1995 to 1996.
