In Memoriam: Sarah Llewellyn Heekin
Sarah Llewellyn Heekin died Dec. 17, 2024. She was 53.
She earned her undergraduate degree from University of North Carolina in Greensboro and her law degree from Campbell University’s Adrian Norman Wiggins School of Law. She practiced law in Wayne, Lenoir and Greene counties, founding the firm of Bland & Heekin, PLLC and the firm of Bland, Heekin, Strickland & Stanley, PLLC in Goldsboro, and the Heekin Law Firm in Washington.
Heekin served as president of the Wayne County Bar Association and president of the 9th Judicial District Bar. For many years, she served as a board member and active volunteer for the Downtown Goldsboro Development Corporation.
Heekin was a member of NCAJ from 2001 to 2015.
