In Memoriam: Steven Michael
Steven “Steve” D. Michael died June 10. He was 75.
Michael served as president of the N.C. State Bar in 2006 and in many other capacities for the Bar throughout his career, including chair of the Disciplinary Hearing Commission. Early in his career, he worked as an assistant district attorney in the Wake County District Attorney’s office. Michael later moved to the Outer Banks where he practiced for many years with Sharp, Michael, Outten & Graham before and after serving as a Superior Court Judge. He was an NCAJ member from 1981 to 1992.
Michael earned his undergraduate degree from East Carolina University and his law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law.
