Rothwell Joins District 15 Public Defender Office
Shana Rothwell is now an assistant public defender in the Public Defender Office in the new 15th Defender District, which covers Brunswick, Bladen and Columbus counties. Rothwell earned her undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University and her law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law. After graduating, she went into public interest work at Carolina Small Business Development Fund, a small business lender with a focus on women and minority business owners. While there, Rothwell filled many roles within the credit department and helped to establish a compliance department.
Rothwell is a NCAJ NEXT Leadership Fellow and a member of the Women’s Caucus Section and the New Lawyers Division.
