In Memoriam: David Blackwell

David Blackwell, who served as director of the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers from 1986 to 1988, died on Nov. 27.

Blackwell also served as a legislator in the North Carolina General Assembly, worked as a lobbyist and was publisher of North Carolina Lawyers Weekly, South Carolina Lawyers Weekly and Carolina Paralegal News. Blackwell was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and UNC School of Law.

A celebration of life is planned for Jan. 14 at Saint James Parrish in Wilmington. Find his obituary here.
