Disability Advocacy Section
Join the Disability Advocacy Section – Supporting Advocates for the Disabled
The Disability Advocacy Section (DAS) is comprised of knowledgeable and dedicated professionals who represent individuals seeking or maintaining disability benefits under Title II and Title XVI of the Social Security Act—whether before the Social Security Administration or in federal court.
Our almost 150 members also assist clients with issues related to retirement, dependent benefits, and other entitlements under the Act, as well as ancillary matters such as workers’ compensation offsets and overpayments.
Our members:
- Represent clients in SSA administrative hearings
- Handle appeals of benefit denials before federal district and appellate courts
Membership benefits include:
- Access to two discounted CLEs annually: a Social Security Disability CLE in the fall and a Section-specific CLE in the spring
- Participation in a Section-specific listserv for real-time collaboration and support
- Invitations to exclusive in-person networking events
- Access to the Law Practice Management listserv, available only to DAS members
Whether you’re new to disability law or a seasoned advocate, the DAS provides a strong community, practical resources, and essential professional development to support your work.
Join us today and enhance your practice while advancing justice for those who need it most.
