Starr Ward

Starr Ward graduated from the University of North Carolina in 2001 and Campbell University School of Law in 2004. She worked for the Public Defender’s Offices in Durham and High Point before starting her own criminal defense firm in 2011.
Starr practices mainly in Guilford County where she defends every type of criminal charge in District & Superior courts. Her main focus and passion is helping youth involved in the Juvenile Justice System and Raise the Age cases. Starr currently contracts through IDS where she serves approximately half of all juvenile cases in High Point. She is also the defense attorney for the Juvenile Drug Treatment speciality court.
Both she and her husband Jon Ward are active NCAJ members. Starr is on the NCAJ Board of Governors fulfilling the 2019-2021 term; she is also a Board Member for the Criminal Defense Section. Previously she served as the Committee Chair for the Juvenile Defense Section 2017-2018.
