Ryan D. Oxendine
Attorney, Oxendine, Barnes & Associates, PLLC
Ryan Oxendine is an experienced civil trial lawyer with an emphasis in complex civil litigation, including business litigation, policy brutality and civil rights, catastrophic personal injury, motor vehicle accidents (trucking and motorcycle crashes), medical malpractice, product liability, and general and class-action civil litigation (including wage and hour collective action cases under the Fair Labor Standards Act). Ryan has achieved great success in his legal career by helping win substantial verdicts and settlements for his clients. He is a proven advocate who has helped people through unimaginable hardship, representing those who have been severely injured or killed by drunk drivers, unsafe truckers, defective medical devices, unsafe working conditions, and other negligent acts.
In addition to his civil litigation practice, Ryan also focuses on a broad range of healthcare regulatory matters and healthcare M&A matters. However, it is Ryan’s work in the dental industry where he has made the most significant impact in the healthcare sector. Dental clients look to Ryan to counsel them in a wide range of complex corporate and compliance matters, and they routinely rely on his experience and insight with respect to the formation, acquisition, growth, and sale of dental practices.
As a seasoned Raleigh personal injury and medical malpractice attorney, Ryan has recovered millions of dollars for injury victims over the years – always fighting for the maximum value of his clients’ cases. He is a member of Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, which is limited to attorneys who have won multi-million-dollar verdicts and settlements. There are over 4,000 members throughout the country, with fewer than 1% being U.S. lawyers.
Ryan served as the President of The Springdale Recreation Club, Inc. from 2018-2021, has served as the President of The Oaks at Westlake Homeowners’ Association, Inc. for over four years, is a member of the Lawyer Effectiveness and Quality of Life Committee of the N.C. Bar Association, and a member of North Carolina Advocates for Justice. He has been recognized as a “Super Lawyer” from 2018 through 2023. In July 2021, Ryan was appointed to the UNC-Chapel Hill Board of Visitors, where he is currently serving a four-year term.
Ryan is a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill (B.A. ’97) and N.C. Central University School of Law (J.D. ’00). He is married to Sarah, a high school counselor in Raleigh, and together they are the proud parents of Hayes and Cate. Outside of the office, he enjoys traveling with his family, following Hayes year- round in high school and AAU basketball games, following Cate in cheerleading and gymnastics, golfing throughout the country with his buddies from McConnell Golf (Raleigh Country Club), and following UNC athletics.
