Meredith Henderson is the Executive Secretary of the North Carolina Industrial Commission. Prior to being named Executive Secretary in 2011, Meredith worked as a Special Deputy Commissioner in the Executive Secretary’s Office and as law clerk and counsel to former Chair Pamela T. Young. She has also served as General Counsel and Rulemaking Coordinator for the Commission. Meredith received her B.A. degree from N.C. State University in 1993 and graduated from the UNC School of Law in 2002. After a clerkship at the North Carolina Court of Appeals, Meredith practiced law in Raleigh, focusing on workers’ compensation and contract litigation before joining the staff of the Industrial Commission.
