Solo Practitioner Attorney at Meredith Barbee Law
Meredith is a native of Cabarrus County, NC, and still calls Concord home. She is married to her husband, Phillip, who is a firefighter, and they have 4 kids, aged from 9 to 2. When she’s not working, you can find Meredith cheering her kids on at swim meets and gymnastics, hanging out with her 3 dogs, crocheting, reading, or binge-watching true crime. Meredith is a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill and loves Tar Heel football and basketball.
In law school, she was selected as vice-chair of the Children’s Advocacy Law Society and served as a guardian ad litem for abused and neglected children. As a third-year law student, she was selected as a member of the trial advocacy team, and won awards for excellent advocacy at the William W. Daniel National Mock Trial Competition in Atlanta, Georgia. She taught self-help legal clinics for divorce and child custody, volunteered as an advocate to help domestic violence victims obtain emergency protective orders, and worked on cases for the North Carolina Innocence Project.
Meredith worked as an intern with the District Attorney’s office in Mecklenburg and Union Counties, where she had the opportunity to work on a wide variety of cases. She prosecuted many cases in District Court, including DWI, traffic offenses, and misdemeanor offenses such as larceny, assault, and drug possession. Meredith also worked with the habitual felon team and worked on cases involving financial crimes and appeals. Her favorite thing about the law is the wide variety of areas in which she can work to help people protect themselves, look after their families, and get the results that they deserve.
