Mark Sternlicht practiced at Beaver Courie Sternlicht Hearp & Broadfoot, P.A. from 1985 until he was appointed by Gov. Roy Cooper to serve as Superior Court Judge for Judicial District 12 in Cumberland County in 2021. He left the bench in 2022.

Sternlicht earned his bachelor of arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his juris doctor from University of North Carolina School of Law. He is a member of the NCAJ Auto Torts and Premises Liability Sections and the Professional Negligence Section. He will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of the Judge Mary Ann Tally.
