Kara Neaton is a Supervising Attorney on the Triad Public Benefits team at Legal Aid of North Carolina and a member of the Medicaid Appeals Technical Team. Prior to joining LANC in 2022, Kara lived and practiced in New York City for 10 years working in bankruptcy law and later as agency counsel to the City’s emergency planning agency.

Kara is a member of NCAJ’s Disability Advocacy Section, New Lawyers Division, and Education Committee.

She earned a B.A. from Marquette University, her J.D. from Loyola Law School Los Angeles and has been a member of NCAJ since 2023.
