Doug Berger is a shareholder with the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin where he has primarily handled workers’ compensation denied cases for 21 years. He served for 10 years as a Deputy Commissioner at the NCIC. At the NCIC, he was the first Deputy Commissioner to preside over the non-Insured and contempt dockets. He also was the first attorney to serve as the director of the claims department and as an advisor to the workers’ compensation fraud unit. He also served 8 years as a North Carolina State Senator representing Franklin, Granville, Vance and Warren Counties.

Doug is a member of NCAJ’s Workers’ Compensation Section.

He earned his law degree from the UNC School of Law and first became an NCAJ member in 2005.
