Wake Forest Law Honors Four With NCAJ Awards
Wake Forest University School of Law honored class of 2025 graduates Remy Gaines and Marie Celeste Anderson with the Trial Bar Leadership Award, and Mackenzie Elizabeth Matthews and Marin Mae Bennerotte with the Trial Advocacy Award. The awards are sponsored by NCAJ.
Nominations for the Trial Bar Leadership Award are solicited from student members of the Wake Forest Law Trial Bar. Based on the award’s criteria, students are invited to nominate peers who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in advancing trial advocacy at the school. The top nominees are then reviewed to ensure they have made meaningful contributions, such as organizing or supporting advocacy-related activities (e.g., Girl Scout Mock Trial), serving in leadership roles within Trial Bar, assisting with internal competition logistics, and promoting trial advocacy among their peers.
Nominations for the NCAJ Trial Advocacy Award are submitted by the coaches of Wake Forest Law’s competitive trial teams. These coaches, who are practicing attorneys and adjunct professors, evaluate students based on their exceptional advocacy skills and meaningful contributions to their respective teams. This includes competitive performance, collaboration, and commitment to excellence in trial practice.
