Remote Hearing Protocol Subcommittee’s Draft Forms Available For Review

October 28, 2021

The WebEx Remote Hearing Protocol Subcommittee of the Judicial Branch COVID-19 Task Force is nearing approval of model forms relating to requesting and objecting to remote hearings. Click below to view the draft forms.

Remote Hearing Request Motion Draft
Objection To Remote Hearing Draft

The WebEx Remote Hearing Protocol Subcommittee was charged with developing model administrative forms addressing WebEx procedures which could be adapted by judicial districts to meet their local court needs. The development of these model forms became more important in light of the recent passage of NCGS 7A-49.6 regarding proceedings conducted by audio and video transmission. The WebEx Remote Hearing Protocol Subcommittee was composed of judges, attorneys, clerks, trial court administrators and coordinators, court reporters, and other stakeholders. After months of work, the subcommittee developed these drafts of model forms for requesting and objecting to remote hearings.

These forms have not been adopted and may undergo additional revisions. At the request of Judge Allen Baddour, one of the co-chairs of the subcommittee, we are circulating these forms to our membership for review and consideration. Please direct any feedback relating to the forms to NCAJ President John McCabe.
