NCAJ Legal Assistants Division Now the Paralegal Division

On Friday, Aug. 4, the NCAJ Executive Committee approved a request from the leadership of the Legal Assistants Division to officially change its name to the Paralegal Division to better reflect the current professional nomenclature of the legal industry.

“The name change was a recommendation and idea sparked by our new leadership team and legal assistant division members this year because it reflects cohesion, connection and consistency across our organizations and certifications, not only statewide but nationwide,” said Kelly Boswell, chair of the newly titled division and a paralegal with Henson Fuerst, PA, in Raleigh.

NCAJ’s Paralegal Division has 150 members. The Division holds a Fall Conference and a Summer Conference annually as well as meetings and roundtable discussions throughout the year.
