In Memoriam: John “Sam” Johnson

John “Sam” Johnson Jr. died April 11. He was 91.
He practiced law for 50 years in Greensboro before retiring in 2007. His firms included Hoyle, Boone, Dees, & Johnson; Dees, Johnson, Tart, Giles and Tedder; Johnson & Tart; Johnson, Foster, & Gordon; and Johnson, Tanner, Cooke, Younce, and Moseley.
Johnson earned his undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University and his law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law.
Johnson was a member of NCAJ, then the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers, from 1970 to 1999. His community service included tenure as president of the Guilford County Young Democrats and the Wake Forest National Law Alumni.
