In Memoriam: J. Harold Tharrington

J. Harold Tharrington died May 5. He was 87. 

Tharrington earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina and his law degree from UNC School of Law. He clerked for N.C Supreme Court Justice Susie Sharp for a year before founding a law firm with his law school classmate Wade Smith. He retired from practice at Tharrington Smith LLP in 1995. 

Tharrington was a member of NCAJ from 1970 to 1997. His practice focused on family law. 

A celebration of life has been scheduled for July 13, 2024 at at Pullen Memorial Baptist Church in Raleigh.
