Harris To Serve On NC Industrial Commission
Former NCAJ member Celeste M. Harris has been appointed to serve as a Deputy Commissioner of the North Carolina Industrial Commission. Before accepting her new position, Harris practiced law for 30 years in North Carolina, focusing on workers’ compensation, personal injury and social security disability law. She had been a member of NCAJ since 1991, and is a seven-time recipient of the NCAJ Order of Service Award. Harris is a North Carolina State Bar Board Certified Specialist in workers’ compensation law and a North Carolina Certified Mediator. Prior to practicing law, Harris worked as a registered nurse. She earned her law degree from Saint Louis University School of Law, attending Wake Forest University School of Law during her third-year. She will hear cases assigned to the Winston-Salem regional office.
