Elon Law Recognizes Goodrich Thiel With 2021 NCAJ Award
Elon Law will present its 2021 NCAJ Award to graduate Goodrich August Thiel III of Greensboro during its 2021 commencement ceremony on Saturday. The award recognizes an Elon Law graduate who has proved to be an exceptional student and leader with a strong aptitude for advocacy.
Thiel honed his trial advocacy skills not just in the classroom but also in the courtroom where he spent 10 weeks in residency in the Guilford County District Attorney’s Office. The award recognizes Thiel’s commitment to public service for the betterment of the criminal justice system and his demonstrated advocacy skills.
Elon Law faculty members select the award recipient based on NCAJ criteria. The successful candidate shows:
- a demonstrated commitment to public service,
- excellent trial and/or appellate advocacy skills,
- strong performance in advocacy courses, internships and externships related to advocacy and public service, and moot court and mock trial performance.
