Elon Gives Appellate and Trial Award to Harris

Elon Law School presented the 2023 NCAJ Appellate and Trial Achievement Award to Alyssa J. Harris at the school’s 2023 commencement ceremonies on Dec. 8. The award recognizes a graduating student who has demonstrated a commitment to public service and excellence in trial and/or appellate advocacy skills.  

Harris demonstrated a commitment to public service through her work in Elon’s Guardian Ad Litem Appellate Advocacy Clinic. She also exhibited excellence in appellate advocacy skills in that clinic, received strong grades in several advocacy courses and has completed an internship with Judge Jefferson Griffin at the North Carolina Court of Appeals and is currently working as an intern at the Greensboro law firm of Garrett, Walker, Aycoth & Olson. She and her spouse and children live in Stokesdale.
