Compton Moves To Duke First Amendment Clinic
Kyle Compton has joined the Duke First Amendment Clinic as the Local News Fellow.
Compton received his juris doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law and his M.S.W. from UNC Chapel Hill’s School of Social Work. He received his bachelor of arts from George Washington University. Before law school, Compton worked in education in Virginia, Connecticut, and Indonesia. As a law student, Compton performed pro bono work, interned at the North Carolina Court of Appeals, and competed on the Julius L. Chambers Civil Rights Appellate Advocacy Team. He was also a staff member on the First Amendment Law Review. As a social work student, Compton studied policy and management practice, interned at the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Juvenile Justice, and completed a comprehensive program evaluation.
Compton is a member of NCAJ’s Civil Rights Section and the New Lawyers Division. He was formerly with the North Carolina Association of Educators.
