Cole Elected Superior Court Judge in Wake County

NCAJ lost a longtime member, but North Carolinians gained a judge on Jan. 1 when Sean Cole was sworn in as Superior Court Judge. Cole won his race for Wake County’s District 10C in November. Cole is a Wake Forest University School of Law graduate, who has led over 50 continuing legal education classes throughout North Carolina and served as the editor-in-chief for five editions of the North Carolina Manual of Complaints. He was a member of NCAJ for more than 20 years before his election.
Before Cole signed off the NCAJ listservs for the last time, we chatted on the Voiced of NCAJ podcast about the turns his life has taken, why lack of money is the biggest problem plaguing the judicial system and how he aims to set a standard for upholding the rule of law in these interesting times.
