A husband and wife were riding a motorcycle when they were hit by a SUV that turned left in front of them at a traffic signal. The driver of the SUV was impaired and was operating a vehicle owned by a commercial business. The husband died at the scene and his wife died a short time later. The husband, 55 years-old, was survived by two children. 

The husband’s estate settled its claim for a present value of $5.5 million.
