Important Update: Cancellation of Mountain Magic 2024
A Message Sent to All NCAJ Members by President Kevin Bunn and Executive Director Shannon Leskin
It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the cancellation of Mountain Magic 2024.
As you are likely aware, the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene has tragically impacted Asheville and the surrounding areas, and earlier this morning, the NCAJ professional team was informed that the Omni Grove Park Inn has closed indefinitely as a result.
Above all, the safety and well-being of the residents of Western North Carolina—and especially our members, their loved ones and their communities—are what matter most in this difficult time. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this disaster, and we are mindful of the unimaginable challenges that so many are facing in the wake of this storm.
It’s hard to be a North Carolinian today. As we witness our state endure such devastating losses, it’s natural to feel a sense of sorrow and helplessness. But what has always defined our community is our resilience and our deep capacity to come together, even in the face of overwhelming adversity. Now, more than ever, our strength lies in our solidarity and our willingness to support one another.
If you would like to donate to the American Red Cross, which is on the ground providing immediate aid and support to families in need, visit redcross.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS (800-733-2767) to make a financial donation. You can also text the word HELENE to 90999 to make a donation.
While we are deeply disappointed, Mountain Magic 2024 will not be rescheduled. We look forward to gathering at the Omni Grove Park Inn for Mountain Magic 2025 (Oct. 16-19, 2025), where we can celebrate our community and resilience in brighter times.
Thank you for your understanding, your patience and your continued support of both NCAJ and the resilient communities in Western North Carolina during these trying times.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need assistance.
