The North Carolina Advocates for Justice is a nonpartisan association of legal professionals dedicated to empowering a strong community of trial lawyers by protecting people, preventing injustice and promoting fairness.

About

A 501(c)(6) nonprofit corporation with more than 2,000 members, NCAJ is the only organization in North Carolina dedicated to supporting and furthering the rights of plaintiffs’ attorneys and criminal defense attorneys and their clients. Our goal is to level the playing field for those unable to fight for themselves and to champion their causes in the courts and at the legislature.

Membership in NCAJ is open to North Carolina-licensed attorneys in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar who focus on representing plaintiffs in matters of personal injury, workers’ compensation, disability rights, family law, consumer rights or civil rights and those who represent criminal defendants. Our membership also includes law students, legal educators, paralegals and legal assistants, retired attorneys and firms involved in plaintiff representation or criminal defense. NCAJ is the state affiliate of the American Association for Justice and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Members vote annually to elect volunteers to serve on the Board of Governors and as officers of the corporation. The executive director of NCAJ reports to the Board of Governors and serves as an ex-officio non-voting member of the Board of Governors.

If you are a member of the public seeking legal assistance…
